The larger jobs come after the Baseline and the Plan
Every change starts the same way. The Baseline grades where your change is now. The Plan, made from it, tells you what to do next. For some changes, what the Plan shows is a larger job. Those jobs are the packages on this page.
Each package is a separate job with its own scope and its own terms. Which one fits depends on where your change is, not on what it costs. You do not buy a package first. Every package starts with the Baseline.
The Discovery
For a programme near its start. From £30,000.
If your programme is near its start, your Plan’s answer is a Discovery. It maps your business as it runs today and as it is to run, before the main work begins. It ends in a case for your board.
A Discovery covers the first 9 of our 27 steps. It ends there, as a finished discovery, with a case your board can sign. It does not carry out the change.
What you hold when it is done
- The Discovery’s own plan, with a named owner for each part, and your organisation’s commitment to own what it produces.
- The intent of your change, worked into what you will own and what you will buy in.
- A map of how your business really runs, down to the activities, with its measures. It includes the work done outside your systems that no document shows.
- The scope of your processes, each classed by whether you adopt a standard, adapt it, or own it as your own.
- Where your people, your suppliers and AI agents can each safely act in your processes, scored. It includes where the AI models used for each capability may run.
- Your organisation’s key decision rules, named and scoped. They are built in a later engagement.
- Your data strategy: where your data’s boundaries sit, and what can be swapped out.
- The intended shape of your systems, independent of any vendor.
- Where the value and the cost of your change sit, in your own figures. Beside it, a first ballpark of what closing the gaps takes, with its assumptions.
- Your target operating model, with a named owner for each capability.
- The pre-projects, named and put in order.
- The roadmap for the main change: its sequence, its stages of transition, and where old and new run side by side.
- The investment case, ready for your board to sign.
You accept each item against set tests, and what you accept is yours to keep.
What it leads to. With the Discovery done, you can take the investment case to your board. You hold the roadmap for the main change, and you can start the pre-projects.
The fee. From £30,000, for the smallest size. The price goes by the size of your change. We quote it before you commit, and no work starts until you accept. That price buys the whole Discovery at that size.
What comes off it. The Baseline is £2,500 and the Plan is £2,500. Taken in step, each within 30 days of the last payment, both fees are credited. Taken in step, at the smallest size, £30,000 less £5,000 is £25,000 more. What “payment” means for a card and for a purchase order is on the terms page.
If your problem is an RFP
A read of one live programme.
It reads one live programme and answers one question. How much of the fee you have committed sits behind milestones whose conditions are not yet in place? It is answered from your own files. You keep the read either way.
It starts with the Baseline, like every package here.
After a Discovery
The pre-project bundle. After a Discovery come the pre-projects: the foundation work your Discovery names and puts in order.
Full delivery. After the pre-projects comes the main change, each stage its own round of the same cycle.
Start with the Baseline
Every package on this page starts with the Baseline. We ran it on ourselves first, and our own report is open to read.
The Baseline draws on Transformation Capability Management, a proposed standard, custodied by BusinessGPS. We wrote its first draft. The Baseline is not a certification against that standard.
You apply, and a person replies within 2 working days, with a date for one conversation. Either of us can say “not for us”, and saying so costs nothing.
The terms, at the foot
- The 30-day cancel covers the Baseline and the Plan only. Email us within 30 days of payment and that step’s fee is returned in full. The cancel terms are set out on the terms page. The cancel does not cover a package. Each package carries its own terms.
- Every fee and figure on this page is plus VAT or sales tax, as applicable.
